Tanya Herbertson

Tanya joined Snedden Hall & Gallop in 2003. She was appointed a Senior Associate in 2005 and a Director in 2010. She leads the firm's Wills and Estate team and is also a member of the Personal Injury team.

Tanya has an extensive practice in estate planning and administration. She is experienced in the preparation of wills and powers of attorney, in addition to arranging probate and letters of administration applications and attending to the administration of deceased estates. Tanya also has significant expertise in estate litigation and has successfully represented clients in matters regarding contested wills and family provision claims.

Tanya specialises in all areas of personal injury compensation, such as motor vehicle accidents, work injuries, medical and professional negligence claims and Comcare matters. Prior to joining Snedden Hall & Gallop, Tanya was a Claims Manager at NRMA. As such, she has a thorough understanding of the way insurance companies work and is well-equipped to represent clients to achieve successful settlements.

Tanya is a friendly and approachable lawyer who prides herself on responding quickly to clients and keeping them well informed. Her clients greatly value her attention to detail and efficiency and, for this reason, they frequently refer friends and family members to her. Tanya has worked for many non-English speaking clients, often with the aid of an interpreter.

Tanya holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Management from the University of Canberra and a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice from the Australian National University. She is a member of the ACT Law Society, the Australian Lawyers Alliance, and the Chamber of Women in Business.

Outside of work, Tanya spends much of her time looking after her young family.
