The original partners, Norm Snedden, Allan Hall and John Gallop laid the foundations of a firm that has become Canberra's oldest independent legal practice.

In 1960 Norm Snedden began his legal practice as a sole practitioner and formed a partnership later that year with Allan Hall. John Gallop joined them in September 1962, so creating Snedden Hall & Gallop. That same year, the then-Prime Minister, Sir Robert Menzies, opened the Law Courts Building in Knowles Place. The ACT Supreme Court commenced its sittings in the new building in May 1962. Snedden Hall & Gallop was one of the first firms to defend the rights of its clients in the new courtrooms.

These founding partners introduced the core values of integrity, professionalism, expertise and understanding upon which the firm has continued to build. Their record of personal, experienced and dependable service is proudly maintained by the current partners.

The firm, now an incorporated entity, consists of five directors, two senior associates a team of solicitors, paralegals and experienced support staff.
